Dolly-Parton

Dolly Parton was born on January 19, 1946, at Locust Ridge Tenn. She grew up with 12 other kids. Her imaginative mind allowed her to escape the grim realities of life. In the beginning, before she learned to read and compose the music she wrote herself, she created herself with her own songs. After 8 years of age, she was playing her first guitar. In the age of 11, she began to sing at the Knoxville Tennessee radio station. In the same year when she began recording her debut album Gold Band Records an independent small-scale label. While she was at school, she established a name for herself in the local music scene. But her dream was to become more well-known. After graduating from high school in 1964, she moved to Nashville. Her first charting recordings for Monument Records included Dumb Blonde and Something Fishy both in 1967. Porter Wagoner, a syndicated television show host at the time, was in search for a woman to sing for his program. Parton was brought on in the year, signed with RCA Records by 1968, and was a part of the Grand Ole Opry. However she left Wagoner's show after 1974 because her solo albums like Joshua Coat of Many Colors and Jolene began charting the collaborations they had with each other. Parton, after the split of their association with Wagoner was the one to write"I'm Always Loving You and had it reach No. Its first appearance at No. 1 was 1974.
