Arianna Huffington

Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington resides in the US and is a Greek-American writer, syndicated columnist and businesswoman. She is a co-founder of The Huffington Post the founder and chief executive officer of Thrive Global and the author of 15 books. Arianna Huffington works as an author, philanthropist, television host and the owner of The Huffington Post. Following her move into England from Greece when she was 16, she received a MA in Economics at Cambridge University. When she was 21, she became the head of the famous debate club The Cambridge Union' and was the first foreign born student who was elected to this position. She was a conservative syndicated writer after the graduation ceremony and, when The Huffington Post launched a few years later, she developed an online voice platform which offered critiques of political scenarios. Her fame and popularity helped to get a number of prominent contributors to publish their thoughts on politics news and culture. Arianna was first noticed during 2003 when she volunteered in the California recall election replacing then Governor Davis. In addition to this, she led the Detroit Project to develop fuel efficient cars. Forbes named her as the most influential woman in the field of media in 2009. She ranked at 12th place on their list. The Guardian also included her to the list of 100 most influential media for 2009. AOL acquired The Huffington Post from AOL in 2011. She was then made the head of the media division at AOL. It included a number of AOL owned properties like Engadget AOL Style List and Patch Media. Their parents are Elli and Konstantinos Stasinopoulos. They were a management consultant and journalist. Her life was shaped by the closeness she had to her mother as well as her relationship with her dad, even though she was very close to the latter. At an early age, she displayed leadership qualities that remain highly respected. at the age of 16 she moved into the United Kingdom to pursue her education and was enrolled at Girton College Cambridge. She enrolled in Cambridge Union, the Cambridge Union college debate society during her time at college in which she became the third and first female to hold the position of president. In 1972 she received an honorary degree in Economics. After her graduation she worked as a journalist-critic as well as a TV host. Additionally, she starred alongside Bernard Levin in an episode of Face the music and started writing books using the editorial services of Bernard Levin.
