April Ross
April Ross has won more than one Olympic gold medal. She is one of a few female beach volleyball players that have achieved this feat. In Tokyo over the next several days, she'll attempt to claim her third Olympic medal alongside fellow first-time Olympian Alix Klineman. Ross's aim is to get her first Olympic gold medal. At 39, this might be her last chance do so. She's still feeling confident nevertheless. Ross said on NBC Boston that he believes If they can play at their absolute most effective, and even play a great game, they will be able to win gold. Therefore, I'm hoping to have the chance and hope for the best. Ross Born in 1982 and was raised within Costa Mesa California with her siblings and parents, started playing sports at the Newport Harbor High school. Ross was a competitive athlete in a variety of athletics while she was at Newport Harbor High School. As a prep-athlete, she played indoor track and volleyball. She clearly was the top at the sport of indoor volleyball. According to her bio, she played a middle blocker and outside hitter on the volleyball court during her high-school career. The results of her efforts were acknowledged by her being named the 1999 Gatorade's Circle of Champions' National Players of the Year. Her skills in volleyball earned her an Orange County Athlete of the Years trophy in 2000. Ross Klineman joined her partnership in 2017, however Ross has been a prominent athlete on the beach for a long time before. She has won major events twice, with various partners. One of them has become an icon in the world of volleyball. For six years from 2007 to 2013, she worked with Jennifer Kessy who more recently was Klineman's coach. Together with Kessy Ross was awarded an Olympic Title in 2009 as she raced in the international circuit. They took home a Silver medal at the 2012 Olympic Games held in London. The legendary Misty Maytreanor team along with Kerri Jennings claimed the gold. The fate of the matter was that Ross became Walsh Jennings' new partner as May-Treanor stepped down. In 2016, the two received bronze medals in the Rio Olympics for beach volleyball. Ross was a college athlete for USC Trojans before making the jump to professional. The Trojans were during high school, as well as in the years before playing on the beach as a professional. Ross's Trojans experience was stellar. In 2000 she was selected Pac-10 Freshman and NCAA Freshman of the Year, and was also an All-American. Furthermore, she assisted her Trojans in reaching the Final Four. The second season of her career, she was devastated by a personal tragedy, but was capable of being selected as an All-American. In her last two seasons as a player, she steered the Trojans up the hill, capturing multiple national championships. Individually she had cemented herself as an all-time great receiving an award in the year 2003-04. Honda Sports Award as the highest ranked female volleyball player. Ross went on to study international relations at USC. Margie Ross was never able to see her daughter reach the top of the field in volleyball. Ross lost her mother to breast cancer in the year 2001. Ross was then a sophomore. However, she continues to remember her deceased parent close and close. Margie is an inspiration for her family on the beach and all throughout her life.
